Photo Collage

I chose to put the picture of me at the beach because I hope to live near a beach in Florida. I chose the beach because I love the beach it is my favorite place to go and I think the ocean is beautiful. I also put a picture of the mascot of University Of Florida Central because that is one of the colleges I would like to go to. I would also be near to some of my family that lives down there so i can visit,  and possibly go to the same college as my cousin McKayla, I chose North Central College because that is another college I am interested in as well and I know it would be close to home and to family also. Not only is is close to home, but it has  a good education program. That picture with the chalkboard and the apple i chose because i want to go into elementary education and become a teacher. The picture of the flower I took in Florida, but shows that I would like to make photography as something I would do on the side and take pictures for weddings or other occasions. I'd like to pursue my talent in photography throughout college. Lastly, that picture of the dolphin was taken a Clearwater Marine Hospital/Aquarium in FL and the dolphins name is Hope. Hope is from Dolphin Tale 2 which I was very excited to see both Hope and also Winter the first dolphin in the first movie. I chose this picture because dolphins have always been my favorite animal, and one  day I would like to go swim with a dolphin and be able to do some fun tricks with them. Being able to be super close and touch Winter or Hope would be amazing.

Crab Legs

This photo was taken with natural lighting making it look clearer. I definitely used a back round with objects to help give the photo more detail and set a mood for the photo.

Food Assignment

I think the lighting in these photos are so strong because they were taken at different angles and with natural daylight.  What makes these foods stand out and make you want to crave them, is the focus. The photographer blurred the back round to focus on the foods which makes them appear to stand out even more. The photographer that took the picture of the pancakes made it look very realistic with the syrup dripping down the side which make the photo have some movement. The salad was put with a fork to give it also a complete look and the spaghetti was focused just by itself. Overall, in each of these photos they portray great contrasts of lighting in different ways.

I learned in order to photograph food you must have a purpose to the picture the picture needs strong lighting or it wont be as good. Props are also another important key to food photography to put together a mood of the photo. Another thing is the angles in which you take the photo has to be 10 to 45 degrees to make it more three dimensional. Focus is important because you do not want to focus too much on the back round, but still need the extra props to help it give the picture more color, and keep it all together. The photographer should be focusing on the food. Also focusing on the little details about the food laying out everything the right way. Too much food on one plate can also distract from the focus of the photograph. Lastly, using natural light is very important it gives it a more successful photograph.

Autism Questions

1.) Autism is caused by abnormalities in the brain structure and function. It is also researched as being genetic, but there is no exact cause of autism found.
2.) It is estimated that 1 out of every 88 children have autism in the United States. (https://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/autism/conditioninfo/Pages/at-risk.aspx)
Also more than 3.5 million people live with autism spectrum disorder.  (http://www.autism-society.org/what-is/facts-and-statistics/)
3.)Autism can be recognized from as young as a child that is just 18 months old to early childhood. Signs a child has developed autism is there moving very slowly talking, walking and learning is delayed. They also have a problem with being able to interact with others and thinking about their behavior.
Signs of early autism in babies and toddlers
1. Does not make eye contact when being fed or smiled at.
2.They do not respond to their name.
3.They do not surround themselves with other kids there age.  No interaction more independent
(http://www.helpguide.org/articles/autism/autism-symptoms-and-early-signs.htm)
4.) I think it is important to promote autism awareness because I feel it is a good thing to think about people and  at least show the world that we support the people with it. Even if not much is done the attempt to helping a cause is whats important.

The ten tips to become a better photographer: 1. You don't have to worry about having expensive equipment it isn't always needed.focusing on learning how to take pictures at different angles is important and not always focusing the object in the center. 2.Shoot during the Golden Hour: Taking pictures at early morning when sun is still rising and at night when the sun set, it turns out to be a beautiful picture. 3.Use ugly things as subjects: Take pictures of objects you don't usually focus on that could turn out to be a interesting picture. 4. Deliberately limit yourself: try something different, focus on taking the photos at many angles and also the composition. 5.Take an art class: This will help you identify and learn the types of shades, elements, still life and perspective of a piece of art work. 6.Use a traditional film camera: Using this camera you will take many shots and be selective with your photos trying to take them at many different angles. 7.Study the work of other photographers: study a variety of different artists and look at the type of work they do and find something that interests you. 8.Move your own positions as you shoot: take different shots moving yourself, whether you lie down or sit up or stand take the photos at many angles. 9. Experiment with different techniques: Try blurring out the background and focusing on the main person object or building you are taking a picture of. 10. Don't delete photos you may not like because you may like them later and can turn them into something interesting that you would have never thought you could. 2.The tips that are most beneficial to me are using a traditional camera and focus on the main object or person in a photo. I think having a traditional camera allows you to see the differences in the different shots i take of the same picture and I can choose ones I like. Focusing on the main person or object helps them stand out and i love the look of the background being blurred. 3. I agree that all these tips are somewhat effective some more than others. I don't really agree about keeping every photo that you may not like. I feel if I don't like a picture I take then I should delete it because I could take better photos to replace that one. 4. The tip of not always taking the picture of a person or object and making them in the center. i tend the center them and i could try shooting it different ways.

3 examples of READ Posters

This picture is a great example of how this can inspire teens and adults to read the Hunger Game books.
This picture is also a great example for those who are big Star Wars fans. I think the caption catches the reader's attention.
I think this poster is good because Dr. Seuss books are very popular and have been around for along time.Children always enjoy reading these books.

The first Photographer I chose was Thomas Flensted. I thought his photo story was interesting because he focused on different countries such as Italy, Germany and many others. I thought these pictures made it interesting to see different parts of the world. I would like to go to Italy someday so this sparked my interest. His photos were successful because he showed beautiful places in the world and what their environment is like.
The second photographer Kristi Oloffson had a interesting photo story on the Indian Ocean. She showed different things she did while sailing on a boat, and she created a great story about her time there. Her pictures were successful because they all related back to the Indian Ocean and the importance of it.
Three possible story ideas I would want to use for my Photo Story would be doing a story of my family, the beaches I went to in Florida or something to do with Italian Food.
